WEMYSS FAMILY COLLECTION

WEMYSS FAMILY COLLECTION is a new series of blended malt Scotch whiskies crafted from the Wemyss family’s own selection of maturing cask stocks. In the never ending search from quality, the Wemyss family have in the past decade been sourcing newly distilled spirit from the foremost Scottish malt distilleries to mature in casks carefully selected for the extraordinary influence they impart on Scotch spirit.

Each release of the Wemyss Family Collection will be carefully chosen from the private reserves of Wemyss family casks, with the guidance of top industry professionals including Charles Maclean. The whisky is blended and bottled only when the spirit and wood are in complete harmony to create a quality blended Scotch malt that showcases a defined and flavourful style of whisky.

NOSE
A fruity bouquet of peaches, lemon toffee bonbons and pineapple syrup alongside creamy vanilla and buttery shortbread notes

PALATE
A tingling spice dances over the tongue with zesty orange peel, with the warmth of a freshly grated ginger and honey toddy

FINISH
A lengthy finish of toffee and hazelnut with hints of spicy oak and lingering vanilla

The second release from the Wemyss Family Collection, Treacle Chest is a blend of two single malt whiskies from the Highland region, matured in 14 first fill ex-Sherry hogsheads. Rich and sweet. Only 6300 bottles.

Chestnut

NOSE
Rich treacle sweetnedd with deep fruit notes of dates, blackcurrant and figs. Deep aromatic wood notes like an old wooden chest made from antique mahogany or chestnut

PALATE
Toasted oat and ginger biscuits with nuggets or walnut and crystalised fruits, warm from the oven, and enjoyed with a mug of spiced hot chocolate. Fine leather mingles with damp heather buffeted by coastal sea spray

FINISH
The wood makes its presence know leaving bittering caraway flavour, pipe tobacco and mild spice

Vanilla Burst is a blend of two single malt whiskies from the Speyside region, matured in 15 first fill ex-Bourbon barrels. Key tasting notes: vanilla and spice. Only 4800 bottles.

COLOUR
Muted Gold

NOSE
The initial nose is sweet and candy like; foam shrimps and strawberry bonbons. Mineralic note emerges in the form of limestone and fresh seaside air. A mild and perfumed smoke is only hinted at like a distant beachside bonfire.

PALATE
A complex battle between sweet and savoury with heather honey, cinder toffee and marshmallows. The savoury and maritime notes take form as rollmops or salted oat cakes and scallops cooked in butter with tarragon.

FINISH
Burnt wholemeal toast smeared in chunky peanut butter and a peppery spice.

Blooming Gorse is a blend of two single malt whiskies from the Highland region, matured in 15 first fill ex-Bourbon barrels and 4 first fill ex-Bourbon hogsheads . Key tasting notes: gorse flowers, coconut and Vanilla. Only 6900 bottles.

COLOUR
Bright Gold

NOSE
A fresh, bright nose with vanilla and coconut notes that weave amongst the nutty and fruity spirit to evoke the aromas of freshly bloomed gorse flowers, geraniums, honey nut cereal and roasted cashew nuts.

PALATE
The initial top notes are that of rich porridge sweetened with floral honey. The mouth feel is smooth and creamy with a mild spice and tingle on the palate and the flavour of desiccated coconut.

FINISH
Medium length with lingering coconut and vanilla.
